Lead Consortium for National Health Data Infrastructure
We are honored to announce our selection by the Israel Innovation Authority to lead a strategic national consortium dedicated to establishing Israel’s next-generation health data infrastructure. This initiative launches the 'Integrative Medical Intelligence Platform,' a pioneering system designed to bridge the gap between hospital-based acute care and community medicine. Leveraging advanced Agentic AI architecture in partnership with AWS and NVIDIA, the platform will drive multi-modal research and precision medicine breakthroughs across Oncology, IBD, and Neurology.
Digital Twins in Personalized Medicine: The Technological & Organizational Fabric
March 2026. We have been invited to present a strategic roadmap for implementing Digital Twins in clinical practice. The lecture explores how dynamic computational models, continuously updated with real-time patient data, can simulate treatment scenarios and predict biological responses. We will demonstrate how the unit transforms Digital Twins from research concepts into operational decision-support tools that bridge the gap between biological knowledge and real-time care.
Scaling Our Secure Virtual Research Environment (VRE)
Supported by a continuous mandate from the Israel Innovation Authority, alongside the Hadassah Medical Organization and Hadasit, we are scaling our national data platform into an industrial-grade, Self-Service Secure Virtual Research Environment (VRE). By integrating advanced NLP to unlock unstructured clinical text, pioneering a national 'Trust Layer' for scientifically validated synthetic data, and deploying a federated multi-center network, we are providing the health-tech industry with secure access to high-fidelity data. Engineered in partnership with our strategic technology allies—AWS, MDClone, and Briya—this infrastructure empowers researchers and pharmaceutical companies to accelerate time-to-market and drive medical breakthroughs while maintaining strict patient privacy.
Educating the Next Generation: The Bicycle Safety Dashboard
In a special initiative blending data literacy with public health, we invited the children of the IT division to step into the role of Data Scientists. The youth participants performed hands-on data extraction, defined clinical KPIs, and designed a comprehensive dashboard analyzing pediatric ER visits due to bicycle accidents. Presenting their visualizations to Dr. Ahmad Nama, Director of the Emergency Medicine Department, the team uncovered a critical, data-driven insight: pediatric patients have nearly twice the risk of hospitalization when sustaining a head injury, quantifying the life-saving importance of wearing a helmet. More than just a lesson in road safety advocacy, this was a true apprenticeship. Moving far beyond passive classroom learning, the children actively engaged in the professional arena, experiencing firsthand the profound daily impact of their parents' work and discovering exactly how data can be harnessed to save lives.

Operating the Data & AI Unit is much like a double-shot espresso: it is fast-paced, high-intensity, and focused on immediate results.
Q: You bring over 20 years of experience in Strategic Medical Data Leadership. How does that translate to the hospital floor?
Dorit: "It translates into dedication. In this field, you don't build systems for 'users'; you build them for mission-critical situations where lives are on the line. Whether it’s a snowstorm in Jerusalem or a national emergency, this team shows up. We understand that behind every row in the database, there is a patient waiting for an answer."
Q: You often talk about working "Matrixionally." What does that mean for the team?
Dorit: "It means dynamic roles. For the team, the hierarchy is defined by the project, not the rank. A team member can lead Project A as the expert, and then in Project B, the roles get reversed, they support a colleague who holds the expertise in that specific domain. This flexibility prevents rigid silos and ensures the best professional solution wins."
Q: We say we "don't forget the milk." Who are the humans behind the technology?
Dorit: "We are a unique human mix. We come from different communities and zip codes, women and men, grandmothers working alongside young newlyweds. We come from different sectors and worlds, but we are connected in heart and soul to Hadassah. We don't share a lifestyle, but we share a fierce commitment to this hospital and a single professional language."
Q: Finally, what is the Vision that drives you?
Dorit: "To ensure that the Innovation and AI center positions Hadassah at the forefront of international excellence and global impact in digital medicine solutions. We are facing a significant challenge: the transition to an era where data and AI are strategic engines of change. My commitment is to transform our data into a driving force that creates direct strategic value for every patient and clinician."
